Why did thousands suffer in New Orleans while others went on to safer areas? It boils down to 2 words: personal responsibility.

While Al Sharpton, Jesse "Sloganmaster" Jackson, Louis FarraKKKhan, Kanye West, and others continue to spill racial hatred and use this tragedy to spout partisan barbs (even though evidence shows that Nagin and Blanco should be shouldering the blame for the destruction of New Orleans), you keep hearing about how the poor were left to fend for themselves.

No shit.

We're all left to fend for ourselves. That is what our Country is all about. Fending for ourselves. Do you think the settlers who went West during Western Expansion asked the Federal Government for bus rides and gift-cards to Wal-Mart?

We've become a nation of pussies, and I'm sick of it.

Everyone, poor and rich alike, knew a major hurricane was going to hit the Gulf Coast.

Many people, white, black, rich, poor, educated, stupid, all found their way to safer ground. Hundreds of thousands of people fled to safety.

Yet, thousands in New Orleans remained on their plantations, I mean homesteads, and waited for their nursemaids, the government, to come take them away.

Why did poor people in Mississippi and Alabama leave, while the poor in New Orleans stay?

Again those two words pop up. Personal responsibility.

The inner-city mentality that the government will take care of everything for them caused thousands of people to sit in their homes and wait for the plantation owners (read: Federal Government) to come and wisk them to safety.

And Nagin and Blanco waited, and waited, and waited, and then it was too late. And the people who DIDN'T take responsibility for themselves suffered.

And every time some person, be they black or white, advises these people to take responsibility for themselves and their families, they are vilified by the same ass-clowns that are now carping that the government didn't do enough to save these irresponsible people.

They're right. The government DIDN'T do enough. It let them sit for generation after generation and handed them everything. It didn't teach them to survive. In real life, nothing is handed to you, only in government. Instead of teaching these people to help themselves, it taught them to help themselves to other people's income, and now that so many people are unprepared to take care of themselves, the race pimps and partisan whores are clamoring to pamper these people even more.

So, I see it like this: the "evil" Republicans want to focus on rebuilding and educating these people, and empower them to take charge of their lives. The Democrats, trying to secure their voting base, cry out that Republicans don't like them.

What have the Democrats done for these people? The "Great Society" plan that LBJ barfed upon them has led them to be a complacent voting block who does what their Masters tell them to do. They tow the party line. They don't question their leadership.

After 40 years of pampering and catering, why don't they ask themselves why they still shoulder the chains of these Masters, instead of throwing off those chains, and seek to thrive?

One day, for certain, the spoils of government-sanctioned discrimination will end. And those who benefit from those spoils today will be unprepared for the coming storm, both literally and figuratively.

See what else I have to say Previous day's rant
